Alkali-Silica-Reaction (ASR) / Alkali-Aggregate-Reaction (AAR)

We began to study reinforced and prestressed concrete constructions damaged by alkali-silica-reactions around 1990. We were the first laboratory in Switzerland to systematically test the alkali-reactivity of concrete and aggregates. We have profound knowledge and wide experience in field studies and laboratory testing and have been commissioned by the Swiss Federal Road Authority with a research project on this topic. We offer various types of tests according to national and international standards such as AFNOR, ASTM, RILEM for aggregates and concretes. We assist owners in the evaluation of the actual and future state of buildings and we support producers in the mix design of ASR resistant concrete mixes.
