At the end of the 60s there was a growing need for building materials to be inspected and surveyed by outstanding specialists in terms of quality and durability. The idea of a private sector working laboratory was born – and single-mindedly turned into reality by Albert Romer. It initially began with quality assurance carried out in connection with the construction of main roads and bridges, where the needs and requirements of an ever-growing number of customers have been met since 1967. Today, the LPM Building Materials Testing Institute is an acknowledged, independent partner for public authorities, builders, planners, contractors as well as for the industry and commerce. LPM currently employs 22 staff members and offers computerised microstructure analysis and a comprehensive programme of mechanical, physical, chemical and bacteriological testing methods. Therefore, we are your partner for the examination of building materials, building protection systems as well as for expertises and specialised consultancy.
